EMDR
“Changing the memories that form the way we see ourselves also changes the way we view others. Therefore, our relationships, job performance, what we are willing to do or are able to resist, all move in a positive direction.” - Francine Shapiro
EMDR, or Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, was originally developed to help individuals struggling with severe PTSD. After realizing how effective it could be, clinicians began to use it more frequently with all types of clients as everyone has trauma to some degree. EMDR has a high success rate and while it takes intentionality and commitment, the end goal is worth the relief. Using 8 established phases, EMDR is different from talk therapy in that it provides a space to process hard memories or experiences while aligning the body, mind and soul back to a healthier state. It is a pathway which ushers us back to our true identity and helps solidify truths in the midst of past hard circumstances.

EFT
“To achieve a lasting loving bond, we have to be able to tune in to our deepest needs and longings and translate them into clear signals that help our lovers respond to us. We have to be able to accept love and to reciprocate.” - Sue Johnson
EFT, or Emotionally-Focused Therapy is a type of intentional therapy which aims to heal and strengthen the emotional and physical bond and/or heal attachment wounds within a couple, for an individual, and/or between family members.
Understanding our attachments and providing a space in counseling to lean into these difficult emotions is an intentional way to lessen trauma triggers, decrease stress, and build security within. Proven to help de-escalate conflict and improve communication, EFT addresses rooted fears and helps individuals personally as well as in their relationships break-free from areas of bondage.

CBT
CBT, or Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy is a type of therapy that addresses the thought patterns within an individual. Through talk therapy, CBT is utilized to narrow-down negative thinking and reframe and redirect thoughts which helps not only mentally, but emotionally and even physically.
Many individuals do not realize the impact of their thought patterns. CBT is a healthy way to slow-down these attacking thoughts and learn more about what is true and needed. We can have a strong inner-critic that won’t stop nagging us and this is exhausting. CBT is a gentle approach and can be used at any age and for any circumstance.
Additional CBT methods include:
CBT-I (insomnia)
TF-CBT (trauma-focused)

Mindfulness
Mindfulness, or to be fully present, is such a gift. We live in a time where life is rushed and it is difficult to slow-down and be at peace in the moment or day.
Mindfulness is a skill that takes daily practice, but when applied, it is life-giving and helps an individual or couple regulate better, show-up for their loved ones well, and work hard.
For individuals who struggle with resting, mindfulness is a great tool to add to your toolbox and our therapists are here to encourage and help you. We often offer various mindfulness exercises in session to try such as Box Breathing. We also can suggest various apps or workbooks to use on your own to continue developing this skill.
Don’t miss out! THIS day is a good day- to enjoy and be intentional about.

Play Therapy
Play therapy is a counseling approach that uses play, a child’s natural form of communication, to help them process feelings, resolve conflicts, and overcome challenges.
A trained therapist uses toys, art, and other materials in a playroom to create a safe space for children to express themselves and work through emotional and behavioral issues they may not be able to put into words.
Play therapy can also be used with teens and adults. It is an intentional step to understanding one’s attachment wounds, learning their identity, and more. When we play, we are likely to relax more and in therapy, we love to come alongside our clients and help them slow-down, learn, and grow!
