CLINICAL COUNSELING

Individual, couples, and group counseling offered by clinicians who are passionate about mental health and care about your overall wellness.

At Valor Counseling Center, we want to offer our clients the best care no matter their background or circumstances. We believe a clinical approach coupled with a theological foundation is key to healthy next steps and change.

  • Individual Counseling

One-on-one confidential counsel for the child, teen, or adult. Individual therapy is an empathetic, safe space to share, process and grow. We discuss your therapy goals and work together to help you meet these milestones by utilizing psychoeducational training and theological support if desired. We also work on safety and stabilization if needed.

As licensed clinicians we strive to use modalities which are proven to work effectively and prompt healthy change such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, DBT, Trauma approaches like EMDR, play therapy, and more.

Any individual under the age of 18 is considered a minor and confidentiality will be discussed with a parent(s) or guardian.

  • Couples Counseling

Couples therapy for those needing help in their dating, pre-marriage or marital relationship.

Whether you have been together for a few months or many years, no relationship is perfect. Couples counseling offers a space to work through communication, conflict, hearing one another and more.

We utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) methods and Gottman approaches in addition to other helpful modalities.

  • Group Counseling

Group therapy is very helpful. A community of individuals who are going through similar seasons of struggle is imperative because it reminds us that we are not alone on our healing journey.

Groups vary in topics. We utilize research-based and evidence proven material to help navigate these discussions and growth opportunities. Visit our Groups Page for more information.

  • Parenting Counseling

Parenting is a blessing. It can also be difficult as you navigate the stages of your child’s growth both emotionally and mentally.

Our goal for counseling is to come alongside you to:

    * Encourage your steps.

    * Learn new tools for parenting.

    * Acknowledge your role and goals.

    * Help provide a safe, secure attachment with your children.

  • Family Counseling

Family dynamics can be difficult to manage as life happens and changes occur. The purpose of family is create a safe, connected environment. We hope to come alongside you and provide space to talk through the hard stuff, mend relationships, and promote a healthy attachment amongst family members, so that communication is easier and there is relief. While things can never be perfect, family counseling is a great way to start rebuilding what has been difficult with a licensed counselor.

  • Child Counseling

Every child is a gift! In therapy, we hope to come alongside your child and provide a wonderful, therapeutic experience for them where they are heard, seen, and understood. There is always meaning behind the behavior for every child at any age whether they are 4 years old or 16 years old. A child’s brain is not fully developed until around 24 years of age. We strive to look at the whole person, family dynamics, their environments like school, and partner with the parent in helping their child succeed in counseling.

Child Counseling may use play therapy, art therapy, mindfulness tools such as sensory activities, and/or gentle CBT.
